I'm surprised Ray is so dismissive.
It seems to me that one legitimate field of enquiry in
biophysics would be the sensitivity of the animal eye:
is it a one color, two color or three color system for various
animals?

I may have mentioned before - but a high school student with some
exposure to Skinner's experimental protocols may readily provide
definitive experimental results on the topic: that a goldfish has
functional color vision for example, is a topic not too advanced
for a Science Fair.

Should a physicist know this?
