There appears to be significant data to indicate that bone healing can
be facilitated by either an electric field, a magnetic field, an em
field, ac, dc, all of the above, none of the above.
However, what is being heavily, heavily marketed is simple (almost
refrigerator) magnets of unknown strength in various devices to keep
them close to the skin. There are even magnetics with sticky stuff
similar to ekg contacts that one can attached directly to the skin.
These are steady state device unless you count the interaction with the
Earth's magnetic field as you move around. Where are the studies that
validate these devices?
