Re: Long-term Lab Experiments

There is an almost trivial but certainly long-term experiment I have my
Astronomy 101 students do: measure the Sun's elevation weekly using the
shadow of a suspended string, make a graph and interpolate or extrapolate
to get the local latitude (at equinox) and the obliquity of Earth's
rotation axis (at solstice). Crawford

Hey folks,

I was wondering if anyone has ideas for long-term experiments (inquiry
or non-inquiry) that can be carried out in a HS and/or college setting?
I appreciate the help.
