It was a small point but a telling one, and only the unkind
would call it a nit-pick. So as a specialist in these matters
(nit-picks, that is) allow me to expand Jim's point.

And you will recall that a kindly elder statesman of this group,
no, it was in fact I, mentioned recently that the ..er..
US Customary way of differentiating X1000 from X1024 was by
referring to them respectively as k- versus K-something.

At least until kibis came along.....

So Y2K implies ( to the eagle-eyed) Year 2048 AD
