Re: Evolution and Creationism

David

I do not recall posting a message on this subject. I did see one by Phil
Johnson. Is there another Paul Johnson on this net?

I was hoping we could get back to physics and our usual quasi-reasonable

reminding us of the purpose of this list.

Since it seems that Paul Johnson's post only serves the cause of those
who would like to ridicule people of faith, reinforce prejudices against
the Christian school movement based on certain stereotypes, displays
an unseemly level of prejudice and bigotry, triumphantly displays a
manifest ignorance of science, and a few other things, I can't help but
wonder if this post was not a hoax posted by a dedicated evangelical
atheist to further the cause of materialist naturalism. It would
sadden me to think that this is was thought to be a serious contribution
by its author. What really worries me is that I didn't see any smilies
or other clues that this is a hoax, but rather noticed that it was posted
"sincerely" in its closing.

If we must continue to discuss/debate this area in this forum (despite a
host of other internet venues dedicated to this very topic) I would at
least ask that the discussion try to discuss the points of the relevant
physics of the situation. I would like to keep the level religion down
to such things as whether or not 'heat' is a 4-letter word when used as
a noun, whether or not energy is real and/or flows, whether or not there
are tidal bulges on the Earth, whether or not Bernoulli's principle gives
a decent explanation of lift, etc.
