So, why would you want to let that stop you? I'm not sure I would be
interested in reading reviews written by someone who cares too much about
my approval and acceptance. I assume that the best reviewers would be
gifted souls who meet the following qualifications:

1. Expertly well-versed in the subject and its applications.

2. Write to enlighten, not just to entertain.

3. Respectful of their potential audience, but ...
confident enough in their knowledge and beliefs that they can take a
"damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" attitude about writing what
they believe to be the truth no matter how it may be received.

4. Temperate, reasonable, even-handed, fair-minded, open-minded.
