Good example of opposite conventions being used.
In this case of CURRENT it is important that we emphasis either the
'conventional' current of Ben Franklin (from positive to negative in
external circuits) or the 'electron' current that seems to be
stressed in High School Chemistry classes and not of anywhere else.

Remember that the Hall effect clearly shows that positive charge
carriers predominate in Be, Zn, Bi, p-type semiconductors etc.

We have a text co-authored by Hall in the early decade of this century (the
Hall effect expt I believe was first done around 1870) in which Hall and
his co-author specifically refuse to assert that the electrostatic examples
demonstrate anything other than two charged states. They go on to suggest
that there are still those who differ over the single fluid and double
fluid models, but that for simplicity's sake they are going to speak in
terms of the two fluid model. So does the Hall effect so "clearly show
that positive charge carriers..."? Hmmmm....
