There are commercial news servers that you can access (for a fee, of
course) via your current Internet connection, using Netscape or a
standalone newsreader program.  Two that come to my mind are Newsguy
(http://www.newsguy.com/) and RemarQ (http://www.remarq.com/).

There's also DejaNews (http://www.dejanews.com/) which is free but has a
clunky Web-based interface.
