Sorry to distract from all the really good physics discussion -
"Yvon Jean" <phys@ntl.sympatico.ca> posted a question about his laser
dying. The question appeared in courier, then the message was repeated in a
different font, with a line saying it was in html. THEN the rest of the
phys-l digest lost all it's line formatting and became a solid block of
text. The same thing has happened on other lists that I subscribe to in
digest form.
Am I right in thinking that the problem is in the listserver program not
recovering from the html message?
