Re: HP-15C

I agree in all respects (except one) about the quality of the HP-15C. My
wife still uses the one I had (and had gotten rid of abouty 1989). It has
a great display (large numbers --- even more important as we get older)
and it was the first to have to all important "backward single character
delete" key.

The reason why I moved away from the HP15C (to the HP-42C) was twofold:

* I wanted alpha-numeric capability (but that was not really all that
important --- I could have done without it);

* I was constantly "overtyping" the keyboard input buffer --- and I'm
really not fast!

This generated so many errors (together with my natural clumsiness) that I
just had to move to a different calculator.

I did also get a printer to go with the HP-42C which I used for maybe 2 or
3 months and have not touched since. It's a good little printer with a
lot of capability, it just seems that hard-copy output for that calculator
was almost never important. I gave the printer away to someone that had
anoth model of HP (I have long since forgotten which one) that could use
the same printer and could actually do graphics on in the display.
