Re: January AAPT Meeting

For those of you who use GPS to navigate your way through this
cold, cruel world there are a couple of world wide web pages that you can
use to get good latitude and longitude positions for most any point in the
lower 48 states. One is:

http://www.juggling.org/bin/un.cgi/map-find

and the other is:

http://www5.MapsOnUs.com/

The first is basically a latitute, longitude position finder. The second
is an on-line mapping service that will map out a route for you. It also
provides latitude and longitude for the center point on each map, so by
some judicious clicking you can get the latitude and longitude for each
turn that you need to make.....

If you are using an El Cheapo GPS receiver, like I do, be sure to
position it as far forward on your dashboard as possible in order for it
to "see" at least three satellites.
