Same question for the equinoxes, i.e. the "autumnal equinox" starts the
autumn season, your spring.

A small sample concensus from 46-degrees South says that the British BAA
Handbook terms seem to govern...ie, calling out only the month of occurrence.
With Australia, New Zealand and South Africa formerly in the British Empire,
it seems logical to me. Marlyn
