scaling.

Hello David Simmons:

What about a demonstration of something that DOESN'T scale -- like
the reason that elephants aren't just scaled-up mice?

I've seen a neat demonstration with a `cow' that's scaled up by a
factor of two or so in the linear sense, but since the cross-section
of the legs only goes as l^2 while the weight goes like l^3, the legs
break on the larger `cow'.
