Re: Today's jaw dropper

We had a bookstore in KY that sometimes even went so far as to rebind
the books that said complimentary copy not for sale on the covers. It seemed
that before they started to rebind them a student had picked one up and tried
to walk out of the store without paying. His defense was to show them what it
said on the cover. The same bookstore chain sold company cars after setting
the milage back. In KY we elected the owner governor!

Amen. I don't understand why this is not illegal. Or is it? Whenever
one of these sleazoids swings by, I make a point of loudly explaining to
any nearby student the central role of "this guy" in driving up their
textbook prices.
