on the Physics InfoMall CD from Fuller -Reply

Hi Dewey!
I'm glad to see someone else using the Infomall CD. It has
so much info in it, it is a wonder that it is legal. (There were many
very generous authors contributing, I understand. It is very legal
and very useful.) Many people contributed materials and many
long, hard hours to produce it ( I just contributed my name and
address to the list of teachers that volunteered to be listed as local
resourses) so I am glad to see you using it as a textbook. I'd love
to see a copy of your syllabus. Here at my school we are
attempting to develop asyncronous methods of course
management with multiple linked classrooms, telecourses, and on
line courses. I hadn't thought about it but the CD would be an
excellent tool for labs, demos, resource materials (the best) as well
as a complete course resource as you are doing for students with
limited contact with physics instructors.
I hope you're doing well with your bag-piping. I was at
Grandfather Mountain this summer but it was the weekend after
the Highlanders festival. We usually have our family reunion at that
time. I'm afraid I saw that you had been at Denver this summer and
I had wanted to meet you but was so busy that I found myself on
the way home before I found you. 'Maybe in the future?

I am using the Physics InfoMall as a textbook for my courses. So
The
Learning Team has provided the UNL bookstore with copies of
the CD-ROM
without the fancy plastic booklet cover and the printed users
guide...which
is on the InfoMall in electronic format anyway.
The price is only $77.12 compared to the $295 price for libraries in
the
fancy plastic binder.. tax would be about $5.00 and postage about
$5.00...so a person could buy a copy of the InfoMall for
themselves or
their school or college for about $87.

The book store has an 800 number 1-800-735-6835. It is the
textbook for
Physics 212 and Physics 213.

Or a person could write to them at
Textbooks
University Bookstore

Lincoln, NE 68588-0460

The bookstore has 15 copies left after having sold the others to
my students.

Perhaps other physics faculty and physics teachers would be
interested in
this deal.

I have a one page set of instructions that tells how to install the
InfoMall on a Mac or on a Windows machine...It runs on both. I'll
be glad
to send that to anyone who needs it.
