I'm curious about the nature of this disclosure regarding Galileo's data.
I labor under the impression that Galileo simply determined that the
distance traveled from rest was proportional to the square of the time for
which no such correction is necessary. Did he, in fact, incorrectly
extrapolate his results to a numerical value for free fall acceleration or
some similar quantitative result for which this correction would be
necessary?
