Ideas needed

I'm fishing here for some ideas of things to do with computers in the
physics teaching lab.

I've gotten involved in helping a computer science student do an
independent study course. He is very good and looking for a project; we are
thinking about A/D type experiments. I already do a number of CBL things in
class. I have some new ULIs which are not yet in the classroom. What kinds
of interfaced experiments are useful (pedagoically) to do with the ULI that
would not work well with CBLs?

One twist we talked about is some kind of remote experiment controled by
students from the internet (the experiment is in the lab but the student
interacts with it from home over the internet). But offhand I can't think
of anything worth doing that way (ie. that would have much pedagogical
value).

Does anyone have a great idea invoving computers and A/D stuff (and
possibly the internet) they'd like to share?
