Physical Science Tenure Track Teaching Position



ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PHYSICS POSITION available August 1997; tenure track.
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a PhD in science
education with a strong background in physics. Primary responsibilities
will be in the program for pre-service and in-service physical science
teachers. Course load will include physical science, general physics, modern
physics, astronomy, and a practicum for pre-service teachers as well as some
advanced physics courses. A willingness to teach general education courses
and a familiarity with distance education delivery methods is desirable.
The candidate needs to have experience with collaborative learning,
alternate assessment techniques, effective teaching pedagogy, performance
evaluation and experience in writing science education grants. Teaching
experience and a commitment to diversity and working in a multicultural
setting is expected. Familiarity with the use of a CCD Camera is desirable.
