Need help for Drop zone, parachutes, skydiving

I used "Drop Zone" (Wesley Snipes) clips to show the factors affecting the
rate at which objects fall and how skydivers use these.
It's interesting how the shape of the bodies, shifting weight affects the
rate of fall and the film is able to show these. Problem is I think I need
to know more about the following things to be able to give a more
meaningful discussion:
1) parachute design and controlling direction of drop
2) which positions are ideal for increasing or decreasing speed
(aside from just straightening out and being almost
vertical vs. spreading out and making yourself more
horizontal)
3) real details of speed and acceleration per interval

Another thing, is the order below correct? If not, which is the proper
order per interval? If so, what causes the second occurence of terminal
velocity? Can someone give me an idea of what exactly happens and why?

0-<-< increase speed down

0-<-< terminal velocity
