David, I take thta back. Some small electronic equipment expects the
*chassis* to be grounded through the neutral and EG radio interference will
occur if the plug is backward -- but the *case* can't be connected to
neutral.
This is therefore a reminder for *lab* equipment -- it should be "bonded" to
the green wire (round hole) or even bonded to a "lab ground" run directly to
a grounding bar burried in the ground -- so the ground will be grounded. I
can't stand this!! (:-)
