I was at Carleton for a sabbatical the year after they moved from five
courses of 50 minutes each to four courses meeting 70 minutes each
session; same number of sessions per course.
With a perspicacity that was ferocious, the students talked of the
profs with the 50 minute minds and the 70 minute mouths.
Sounds like a real good argument for lots of active/cooperative
learning exercises.
