Actually this brings out an important point in our every changing
technological world. We used to have a saying "I won't believe it
until I
see it with my own eyes." Even that is no longer a 'valid' test if by
'seeing' we accept any kind of video/computer media. The special
effects
have gotten so good that nothing we see 'on screen' can be
automatically
trusted--in fact, I would suggest that we need to go the other way.
DISTRUST almost anything you see 'on screen'.

A colleague sent me this clip with the description below.
thehad to share it with this group. I'm still it total awe!

This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between
see, itRobert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of
Engineering at the University of Iowa.
Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere
Industries
and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa. Yes, farm equipment!
It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment,
calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can
Gerhardwas WELL worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew
theAlumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to
Smithsonian.
