I'm not familiar with the Perrin reference. Einstein's Brownian Motion
paper of 1905 is often cited as the last nail in the coffin of the
non-believers in the atomic hypothesis.
I'm embarrassed to say I haven't heard of Perrin, so if there are others
like me,
