I have learned since I posted this that the piece is an extract from
something that will appear in the next Physics Today -- I think a letter to
the editor. So we will all be able to read the entire piece. Presumably
the editors understand this but I don't -- It just doesn't make sense to me.
So while we wait for this prestigious journal, would someone please tutor
us re the "surface of last scattering" ie "the edge of the visible
universe" Visible? Microwave? Multiple images?
