Re: moon's synchronism





If we ignore the effects of the sun the primary interactions are between
earth and moon. If the angular momentum of the moon decreases then the
angular momentum of the earth must increase, i.e. the total is conserved.

There are at least THREE components of angular momentum in the Earth-Moon
system: spinning of E, spinning of M, and the orbiting angular momentum.


Exactly, and the total of all three must be consereved.
