RE: e-mail format

27 Mar 1997 John Mallinckrodt explained how to produce an RTF file with
text, pictures, symbols, "anything". RTF files can be decoded on MAC
and PC platforms, for example, using Word. The steps are:}i

1. Create document.
2. Save as RTF.

... import into Word (which knows RTF), and then save the Word
document as RTF.

OK, this is clear.

3. How do I e-mail this document? I am under impression that only a
pure ASCII file can be e-mailed (or any file "attached").

4. Can you name two or three additional common MAC applications which
support RTF. List more if it is not too much trouble.

5. Should we start using RTF on Phys-L?
