We should be thankful for those Manhattan Project scientists and engineers, who 
remained on the job to develop the nuclear bomb.   Many of these workers had 
relatives and friends fighting in the Pacific, or had relatives or friends in 
the military who would be transferred to the Pacific front to take part in the 
planned invasion of Japan.
