Thanks to John Denker for providing the videos and associated reasoning in his reply. I will try his suggestions on myself. I no longer teach physics, but am still interested in learning more about it. It would be nice to have more physical insight, as well as, mathematical understanding of superstring theory.

This is the best tradeoff I can come up with, combining some teachability and
learnability with some faithfulness to the fundamental physics.
