So, thinking > 100 k people surely consume more electricity than the equivalent energy to power about 1k ‘biles,[1], I did a quick calc:
Peak Burbank electricity use is ~ 100X the consumption of gasoline by ~ 1k ‘biles! (60mph; 30mpg)
My calc. wrong?

by the way, many of the commenters (the second link) also know (from the “physics”) it’s a ripoff
