Subject: [Phys-L] Calculus intro for AP students

Hello All,

As the high school calendar winds down,I want to share a project I am

working on. As a result of the College Board's changes to AP physics, my

school has decided to switch to the c-level, calculus based program. Some

of my incoming students will have had one quarter of calculus but others

will just be starting calculus in the fall.

To help everyone start with enough of the basics, I have been writing some

math blog posts dedicated to this topic. I am going to use it as a summer

reading assignment. The goal is to provide just enough of an introduction

so that I can use the language of calculus from the very start of the

course. Anything more advanced will have to wait for their math teachers

to catch up.

In any case, here is what I am giving them:

As you will see, I still have some posts to write. Feel free to use and to

suggest edits/additions/etc here, off-list or through the comments at the

blog.

Phil
