physlrnr-l is a modeler's list, inter alia.

The modeling program was begun by Jane Jackson, a regular contributor on these forums. She is from Arizona State University, but the program has spread across the country and is listed as one of the best physics instructional programs in the US.

I've heard about modeling. What are some good online sources for this?

Actually, I often make up my own math problems that are very interesting
and practical. They still have to read the problem, sift out the info, and
apply the appropriate equations. I also tell them (especially my honors
students) that the problems on the test will be ones they have never seen
before. So they really have to understand physics in order to do the math.
They must rely more on thinking and less on memorization. I tell them,
"How you think is more important than what you know." And they can get
partial credit on the math. My MC questions are much harder for them as
they involve all concepts/applications, and I also give partial credit (if
they circle two answers and one is correct).
