on April 15th Phys-L went offline due to a hardware failure.
Unfortunately I have not been checking the list as often as I
typically do and didn't realize this until I was alerted this past
Sunday. Since I am now more than 400 miles from the server it took a
day to have the disks moved to a machine where I could remotely pull
the data that defines the list and begin to put things back together.
Phys-L is now back up at a new URL. The archives may be accessed at
www.phys-l.org and new posts should be directed to phys-l@phys-l.org.
Most of the list's basic functionality should be restored. The last
few months of archived posts must be recreated and some functionality
like the search function will be up in the next day or so.
Please bear with me while the kinks in the new system are worked out.
It will take a few days to tweak things back to what they have been
for the last few years.
A special thanks must be given to John Denker for registering and
setting up the Phys-L.org domain, the new permanent URL for the list.
If you encounter any errors or wish to voice a concern to me directly
