[Phys-l] Fwd: Proposed Easing of Human Subjects Regulations

I find some of these rather disturbing (17 & 18) especially.

I interpret the changes as moving us further along the police state -- no method of insuring a method of making a victim of a failure whole is given.

"Rule Changes Proposed for Research on Humans"
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/25/health/research/25research.html
caught my eye.

More details that would seem to apply to teaching studies are in Issues
17 and 18 of http://www.hhs.gov/ohrp/humansubjects/anprmchangetable.html .

Interesting that Carl Wieman is quoted.
