Re: [Phys-l] Simulation software

I have a whole series of lab simulations at the site listed below. [I will be posting updated versions later today and through the week.] Many of these use photo-realistic graphics with full animations. While I developed these mostly to use as pre/post lab tools and to provide a way to make-up missed labs, for equipment poor programs they CAN substitute for a hands-on lab experience (the hands-on is always preferred). The philosophy of these simulations is to give students a 'virtual' means of collecting data, but NOT to do the analysis for them. That is, with these simulations the students can collect the same kind of data that they would with the actual equipment, but then must do the full analysis to complete the labs.

Full instructions (equivalent to lab handouts) are built into each of the simulations.

Check them out (but wait at least a day to get the most recent versions).

[New versions of all my software now include 4 screen resolutions with the option of downloading a version that automatically chooses the largest available window size, or downloading a version for a particular screen resolution--smaller download/less storage space. Some content improvements have been added as well as a new 800x600 available screen resolution for some older laptops. The entire library is undergoing this upgrade and I have about 75% of the lab simulations ready to post.]

Subject: [Phys-l] Simulation software

Hello, i am a physics teacher and i will start a new physics course on
Sep, 2011.
I don't really know if i have a complete lab for experiments so i'd
like to insert also activites on computers, as simulation software and
videos from the web.
Can you please give me some hint about software for learning physics
at high school level?

Thank you very much in advance.
