Re: [Phys-l] Global Evolution as fact

I'm not sure what that rant has to do with my posting.

Bob Zanelli made a statement: "All of science knowledge consist of models and theories but when "the not a fact" assertion for evolution is promoted this generally means a creationist agenda." I was simply asking if Bob's statement was a "fact" or a "theory".

I already wrote that "atoms" used to be nothing more than products of
imagination (theories). And then they were recognized as real things
(facts). The same was true with "flying machines," with "talking or
seeing over long distances," with "submarines," with "going to the
moon," etc. etc.

The simple idea of "reality," as opposed to imagination, did not
change a lot over thousands of years. But the idea of a "theory" did.
A modern theory, at least in physical sciences," is much more than a
product of imagination. Yes, it is a product of a brain, most often of
many brains, but that is not all. Those who say "it is just a theory"
usually mean "it is only a product of pure imagination." Not every
product imagination is an acceptable theory to modern scientists.
Don't they know this?

Evolution as not a fact, just a theory, is the standard ploy of
creationist institutes like the Discovery institutes. All of science
knowledge
consist of models and theories but when "the not a fact" assertion
for evolution is promoted this generally means a creationist agenda.
