[Phys-l] A drop kit to model the liquid drop model

My friend, with out knowing it, has, IINAW,*** manufactured a kit to model the nuclear drop model. It is easily used with The Time Machine to show drops colliding.

Here's the respective sites for viewing and purchase of the devices.

The Drip Kit

The Time Machine Camera Controller / Intervalometer

I suggest, for modeling, using surface tension modifiers and other liquids, e.g. alcohols (MeOH, glycerol), and an immersion heater.

*** If I'm not all wet

(also) bc's web site repairman when bc "screws up"

p.s. I didn't check to verify one can program to lose a large drop (the heavy nucleus) followed by a small one (the neutron).
