Re: [Phys-l] glass

Many good suggestions from everyone. Thanks! I like the simple razor blade
idea, and may try that first to see what happens. I remember from teaching
earth science that glass is harder than steel, so I am figuring that the
razor blade should not scratch the glass. I hope!

Careful there -- depends on the glass and the steel. I'd follow the
advice of the cleaning people: Try on an unobtrusive area.

Remember high carbon hardened steel will definitely scratch most
glasses, e.g. file used to scratch tubing before breaking.

bc done it to wine bottles also.

Why not try a razor blade? Steel will NOT scratch glass, and a
good blade will take off everything including the glue. At that
point a green "scrubby" will take the rest of the glue off.
