Re: [Phys-l] SOLAR , NUCLEAR ENERGY etc.

Reminds me of the time I decided to not unstep the mast of my sloop rigged row boat after its maiden "voyage" at a small boat harbor in LA. They had an overhead cable in the parking lot just to remind people like me. I bought a new mast when I returned to Santa Barbara. The Dampfschiff on the Elbe has a hinged smoke stack to pass under Das Blaue Wunder.

bc wonders if he's using PHYS-L as a blog?

p.s. My disst. advisor's boat was named "The Golden Rule" (Fermi's). [Back on "topic"?]

This would be a cause for concern - like sailing a navigation with bridges
a foot or so higher than the mast - or even more interesting: a navigation
with bridges several feet LOWER than one's mast. I saw an interesting
demo of how to do this: haul up big water bladders to a suitable height,
then motor in a shallow curve to roll the hull, setting the bladders back
onto the water surface, at which point a low bridge is navigable.
