Two comments.
First, when did this become a forum for economics, and what  
credentials do we have for this discussion?

Second, for Bob.  It seems to me that the sort of free economy you  
suggest has two problems for you.  First, if you look at the past few  
years you see that a free economy leads to abuse and fraud.  Second,  
it seems to me that there is a profound disconnect between the social  
justice tradition of the institution you are at, and the social  
justice, or should I say injustice views you are suggesting.
