For any given string, you can reduce the effect of stretchiness
by dialing up the static tension and dialing down the wave amplitude.
Also make sure there is no compliance in endpoints.
Building on this response of John's, it would not be difficult to find two
comparable specimens of polypropylene or polyester (terylene) versus nylon cordage.
representing stiff versus elastic lines for comparitive testing.
