[Phys-l] stressed beam stiffness analysis with one end fixed

I am having great difficulty in analyzing the stiffness of a beam  
fixed at one end and the load at the free end, no that's easy; add  
the beam is under tension

1, will the curvature differ from the unstressed beam and
2, will that be the only reason the stiffness will differ.

p.s. don't worry about how the stress is applied, only that it is  
perpendicular to the end face, always.
