1) Been there, done that. No flute is easy to blow.

2a) Maybe the customers would be happier with PVC recorders?

2b) OTOH you can buy a box of plastic recorders for a few
bucks per recorder.

3) On the third hand, the nontrivial exercise of teaching kids to
blow a transverse flute is a worthwhile exercise, and maybe it
is part of the fun. It depends on the details of the situation.
(Somehow I suspect a lot of context was lost before I joined this
thread.)
