Re: [Phys-l] Independent Variables

Have I ever claimed I've been persecuted? I thought the definition was delusional belief of persecution.
However, I do think I was persecuted once. I applied to the Peace Corps and was refused. The same day I got the letter saying they had no need for Physics or Maths. teachers (I had just been awarded my Physics M.A. and had a B.A. Maths. minor.) an announcement from the PC was posted requesting Physics and Maths applicants. So there! I had spent much of my little spare time at Santa Barbara visiting college living groups w/ my handy dandy Glasstone (The Effects of Nuclear Weapons) giving my talk on how bad a nuclear exchange w/ the then current Evil Empire would be. I was a member of a small group led by a known Communist. (which party I don't know. He was a rather smart Bio. grad. student). We were part of the successful fight to kick the Army off campus. I suppose it's fortunate we had nothing to do w/ the attempt to burn down the ROTC building. About five years later "we" did burn down the local bank of America.

I've already posted my experience w/ a mail check in Berkeley.

bc, a former DMS, invited to OCS. -- My response was too much too early.

p.s. I also on the recommendation of a worker at the Rand Corp. applied and not surprisingly was refused (I was surprised then. ). Reminds me of my Moscow friend who forgot to tell the KGB, when applying, that she'd had an affair w/ a British citizen.

How about explaining "fairly obvious"?

Numerous visits to my site from IPs with government addresses. Sometime obvious--FBI--sometimes a little more obscure FDA. Most of that activity was in the year following 9-11. Little identifiable since--but then how do you REALLY know who is perusing your pages. However, if your bet is that no one in the government will care about our rhetoric here, I would agree. I actually welcomed the scrutiny earlier and was never paranoid about it. But then we should all be familiar with bc's paranoia by now, he doesn't hide it. ;-)
