I hope I don't have this remembered backwards; but I recall watching the
film "A Man for All Seasons" and Sir Thomas Moore was maintaining, as a
point of fine legal distinction, that his silence regarding the various
marriages of Henry VIII must be applied legalistically to imply assent
rather than dissent.
