Job Title: Specialist, Computer Support - General Education Lab Coordinator (#03137)
Department: Physics Department
Salary: Will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Contract Period: 10.25 months

Job Information:

Applications are invited for a general education lab coordinator position, with start date August
16, 2005, a full time, 10.25-month, continuing Academic Professional appointment. The position is
responsible for the overall operations of the hands-on experimental, and computer-based simulation
laboratories for physics courses in the department's general education curriculum, as well as
limited classroom teaching in those courses.

The successful candidate will have a masters degree (or higher) in physics or a closely related
field, experience with physics laboratory and computational equipment and pedagogy, demonstrated
teaching ability in elementary physics, and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of inquiry-
based laboratory and computer-aided-instruction methods is desirable. Visit our website
