It is much easier discuss the pinhole camera when the image is formed
on a screen (or film) in air. Retinal images are much harder to
analyze. The subjective angular magnification of a single pinhole (made
in a a piece of dark paper and kept as close to the iris as possible)
is about two or three. in my demos the examined objects were closer to
the pinhole than 5 cm. The magnification becomes larger when the
distance to the object becomes smaller. It takes a minute of two to
prepare the demo, if you have a pin or needle.
