[Phys-L] Re: god friendly science



My first two sentences were meant to be mutually independent. The break
with Christianity was explicit. My correspondents telly me that a handful
of European congregations eventually followed. Official histories are
available through Beacon Press (Boston, where else?).

The Hinsdale, Illinois, Unitarian Church (which I attend) led the
U.S Unitarians out of Christianity in the 1890's. The by-laws of the
present day Unitarian-Universalist Association now prohibit the imposition
of any creed as a condition for membership.
