[Physltest] [Phys-L] Re: Mac vs. PC (no flames please!)

But if a display goes out on a Dell, one replaces just the

How big a deal is this? I have 5 monitors in my house. The youngest
is four years old, the oldest 15. None has ever even burped, and all
are connected to computers that are on 24/7 (when not in use the
computers sleep and the monitor powers down, but otherwise, they are
always either on, or waiting to wake up). I would love for at least
some of them to die so I could justify replacing them with newer
flat-panel screens.

I did actually have a PowerBook screen fail once, but that was
because I dropped it.

My experience has been that the monitor is one of the most reliable
parts of any computer.

I do, however, have the remains of a Dell laptop my son had to buy
for school that failed about 3 months out of warranty, and which Dell
refused even to fix, claiming that it would cost more than the
computer was worth.

So much for price considerations.

Never ask someone what computer they use. If they use a Mac, they
will tell you. If not, why embarrass them?
