Unfortunately, the problem is nationwide - not specific to a
particular state. We have thrown huge sums of money at primary
and secondary education with absolutely abysmal results. It's
time to realize that the system - as currently structured with
teacher's unions in control of education - simply doesn't work
regardless of how much money is wasted on it. Testing may be a
faulty mechanism, but some sort of accountability has to be put
in place. We just can't keep buying the argument from the unions
that if we just give them more money they will somehow fix the
problems.
