I cleaned up the worst parts of the program http://www.av8n.com/physics/rope/rope
so those of you who have already downloaded it should download a
fresh copy before investing too much in changing the code. The
place where it defines the pulse-shape is now much easier to
change.
Useful things to play with include
-- trying pulse-shapes other than square.
-- launching pulses from the top downward.
